You can’t ALWAYS be a Mom
Recently, I decided to start my own business as a means to help supplement our family income. Now, many of you other moms and wives can relate to this, my husband is awesome and always supportive however, this was a bit of a shock to him.
Their are ton of perks with working from home, however the down-side is my office is only a eight second commute. Yes that can be a problem, ;) Hence, if their is a email I have to send, a newsletter that I have to finish, facebook, twitter, etc. and the idea strikes me at whatever hour….my office is again, just eight seconds away! I don’t have to wait until Monday morning to drive to my office/workplace. So, of course this is something my husband is not used to me doing. Saying I have a conference call that I need to jump on, attending a webinar, etc.
They are used to us being totally immersed in them and their work. That’s completely understandable since that’s been the norm up until now. With this business, their is always someone that needs us to help them pick a workout program for them, figure out if it should be P90X or INSANITY, help them with their nutrition, or just motivate and inspire them that they can achieve their health & fitness goals.
As moms & women we have a duty to our children and to ourselves. We have to be self-sufficient & respect ourselves. Our children will benefit from seeing that mom not only is a great mom to them, but also sacrifices to give them the best role model/example in life. The trick is to just to be able to find a balance and commit to it.
We are blessed and lucky to have found a business that keeps us accountable to ourselves by making sure we are striving to live a healthy & productive life. In addition, that we’re able to reach out to others and help them achieve whatever fitness and weight-loss goals they may have.

20 Day Clean Eating Challenge!

Dear Boys and Girls, Back by popular demand: Another 20-Day Clean Eating Challenge. DATES: MONDAY, March 28th until (and including) SATURDAY,April 16th, 2011. If you adhere to these guidelines, you will see big changes. DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF little slips here and there. But if you fall, pick yourself up again. It’s consistency and not perfection that gets you to your ideal body! PART I of II: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT 1. You PRESS PLAY Five or Six Times a week, depending on your program. If you are not doing a beachbody workout, you should aim to do 3 resistance days and 2-3 cardio days. (Note: my experience is with Beachbody products. For that reason I can’t design a gym workout program for you.) 2. You EAT CLEAN six times a week. YOU GET ONE CHEAT MEAL PER WEEK, NOTTTT a CHEAT DAY. 3. No additional cheat snacks. ONE CHEAT MEAL PER WEEK. PERIOD. NO ALCOHOL DURING CHALLENGE PERIOD. YUP! 4. You MUST report daily for the preceding day on the EVENT page on facebook. You have until Tuesday morning to take your measurements AND pictures. You don’t have to post them, but you do have to take them. A lot of times you won’t lose pounds, but your body will change. Don’t miss that event! THE PRIZE: A NEW FIT YOU! Are you ready? PART II of II: EATING CLEAN DEFINED RULE 1: You eat 4 to 6 small meals per day, ideally breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner. That means that you are eating every 2 to 3 hours. Your body needs to be fueled. Eating only breakfast, lunch, and dinner is not okay. RULE 2: You eat at least 1250 calories (unless you are less than 5 feet tall). I am putting this down because this challenge is about eating clean and being healthy, not about starving yourself. A few people have asked me if I eat very low calories. For the record, I eat about 1800 to 2000 calories per day these days! RULE 3: This is more like a guideline than a rule. You follow something close to a 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat diet. For those of you doing carb manipulation or following a special plan for diabetics, that’s fine, too. Again, I just don’t want folks to think they are eating clean if they eat 4 bowls of cereal per day. Your meals have to be balanced. If you need a meal plan, email me or ask your coach. If you are BB Club Member, you can print one out. It’s up to you to substitute foods from Michi’s Ladder. I’m super busy guys, so please don’t ask me to figure this stuff out for you. RULE 4: This is the real challenge part: YOU EAT ONLY FROM THE TOP 2 TIERS of MICHI’S LADDER 6 DAYS A WEEK. That means that you cannot have bagels for breakfast nor frozen yogurt for a snack. Top 2 tiers. Period. I see that bagels are now in the top two tiers. I would stay away from them, but if they are in the top two tiers you can have it. If you are not a FREE BeachBody community member, go to: https://teambeachbody.com/signup/-/signup/free/ to join so you can have access to Michi’s Ladder. I will also become your free coach. NOTE: When I first came up with this challenge, I was afraid that it would be too restrictive. But, our results speak for themselves. That said, this is the challenge and these are the rules. If you accept to enter it, then you also accept to enter the NO WHINING ZONE! Another NOTE: If you are prone to having eating issues or tend to get too obsessive with food, perhaps this challenge is not for you. You might do better to stick to something less restrictive. Are you ready? Bring it! **** ADDENDUM: Shakeology, Recovery drink, protein supplements, coffee, natural almond/peanut butter, and almond milk are ALLOWED. ******* For women, and this is MY PERSONAL OPINION, who are trying to lose weight, I would stay clear of the recovery drink. After resistance workouts I have a meal replacement shake. It can be SHAKEOLOGY or another kind of meal replacement. To Your Success!

THE LAST 9 MONTHS OF 2010 = WOW!!
I’ve realized that more money does not mean more problems. Money by itself doesn’t make anybody happier but it sure does give you the freedom to do many more things.
Since Jan. 2010 I’ve been actively working on my very own Fitness & Health business. To back track though…..the way I got really involved with this company was almost three years ago and it happened at 2am! Yep, I was a new mom & had gained about 100 lbs, I’m 5’7 and went from 140 to 245!! I felt horrible especially because I’ve always been totally into Fitness. So, I saw an infomercial for Turbo Jam (a kickboxing workout for any level that comes with like 6 different dvd’s that you can do from home) & it reminded me of Tae Bo with Billy Blanks, I used to be addicted to that!

Well, I thought I can’t go to the gym I don’t have that kind of time anymore not with newborns….plus I was as big as a house & felt horrible…..so I ordered it!
Talk about addicted, it was so much fun! It didn’t even feel like working out, the 35-55 minutes always seemed to fly by & some days I even did it twice in one day! It was that good & let me tell you I’ve taken classes all over the country it takes a lot to impress me! So for almost two years I’m doing Turbo Jam at home & telling everybody about it!
Then I come to find out that their is the opportunity to be a “Independent Beach Body Coach” huh what’s that?!
Find out that basically I had already been acting as a coach because I’d been sharing my news about Turbo Jam with all my friends & family & they in turn were getting turned onto Chalene Johnson of Turbo Jam, ChaLean Extreme & Turbo Fire (to name a few) & buying her dvd’s based on my personal success!!! Also was just in general into fitness & was always encouraging others to do Active things with me….hiking, biking, Swallow Cliff Stairs, etc…
So I decided okay I want to be able to stay at home with my daughter (pictured above) but I do want to help and be able to at least help out with some of the debt that we had gotten into. Let me tell you it was a lot!
So, yes I finally decided in Jan. of this year that I had nothing to lose, it only cost me $39.95 to become a coach & their was no contract & if nothing else I would just enjoy getting workouts like INSANITY or P90X at the Coach discount of 25% off, Sweet!
However, I wasn’t going to think in a negative way & I was going to go for it! The thought of going job hunting was not at all appealing to me, so many of my friends were either getting laid off or were getting less $$ for more work. Plus, I really wanted to be around for my daughter.
So, I told my friend & mentor Mindy Wender, okay I’m ready, what do I need to do? I got to tell you since I’ve always been passionate about working out & staying healthy & fit….talking about health & fitness was so addictive it never feels like a job! I’m actually so excited & almost get too aggressive with explaining to people that having a life where you feel tired all of the time & not motivated by anything but Friday nights is not a way to live!

What I’ve managed to do now has made tremendous huge changes in my life…..I had my Bachelor’s degree however, again the thought of leaving my daughter all day for 12 hours a day was horrible to me & wasn’t going to happen. Had to do what was best for my Family.
So, this was a way that I could stay close to her and at the same time start bringing in some money…..mind you having your OWN BUSINESS has its perks, you run it as you see fit.
The first thing I’ve done is set GOALS. Everybody says to do this but you’ve got to write them down! In addition, is doing a lot of SELF-DEVELOPMENT. I’ve always been into reading but I had not gotten into reading on how to better my OWN LIFE! Reading & listening to Audio such as “Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires” By Brian Tracy were just blowing my mind! Also, “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olsen things like that were waking me up from this fog that I was in.
I’ve managed to accomplish a lot of goals this year, all because of Self-Development & saying “Why Not?!”
I’m a certified Turbo Kick Instructor & Group Fitness Instructor, I started my own Fitness Business, I’ve met amazing positive people & created beautiful friendships that I’m blessed to be able to have near me. I’ve been qualified & invited to go to Dallas to attend a National Leadership Convention that is only for Diamond’s and above, I’ve cut off television by 80% and made small little adjustments that have brought tremendous empowerment & strength to our family’s lives. I’ve traveled more this year then I have in the past five years!! All of it working towards my goal that this will be definitely a Six Figure Income and all of it by just helping it others reach their goals.







What a difference after the first 3-4 months of really laying the ground-work and applying all of these things that I was learning. I was averaging about $200 a week, that was an extra $800/$1,000 a month on part-time basis!!!
I was overjoyed, ecstatic!!! I mean making an extra $1,000 dollars a month, just working 2 hours a day from my own home?!!! Are you serious? Also, that was my first 3-4 months. Fast forward now to nine months later and that has now doubled to averaging $400 a week. It goes to show that if you work hard even if it is just part-time at first, you can double & triple your income in the first 12 months!!!
When did I do this? When my daughter was asleep for the night, that’s when. Their is a saying……”YOUR JOB MAKES YOU A LIVING, WHAT YOU DO AFTER THAT MAKES YOU A FORTUNE!”
I was organizing my time & really started to take advantage of Social Media, just posting things about my story and how I can listen to someone who’s trying to also lose weight or get on that fitness journey & just motivate them by really listening.
It does sound maybe corny but hey listen if your at a JOB, where you are not happy and your only there because well you feel like what else are you going to do? I strongly suggest that you think about starting your own business, sometimes being stuck in a horrible economy is good because it forces you to get creative.

Mi Revisión P90X:

La guía de la salud le muestra para utilizar Cuándo cada DVD y entra en gran detalle (100 páginas de detalle) acerca de cada ejercicio, le mostrando forma apropiada en ambas imágenes y palabras. Esta guía le ayudará tremendamente si quiere ir al gimnasio y hacer los entrenamientos allí. La Guía de la Nutrición explica completamente cómo, lo que, y cuando es supuesto comer.
